Testimony

Thought I'd share a testimony I sent in to Snr Pastor in my church....first time I ever submitted a testimony but I didn't think I could get away without giving God the glory! Praise the Lord!

Hi Pastor,

I am writing to testify of God's goodness in my life, specifically in the area of tithing and faith.

I left my previous church some years back and have been visiting churches for the past few years. It was only last year when I was invited to visit COOS by 2 friends whom God connected me via a strangest medium - blogging. After worshipping at COOS for a few weeks, I knew that this church was where God wanted me to stay and serve in. I finally decided that I will stay in COOS, thereby ending almost a three year long search for a church.

In the past 2 years when I was searching for a church, I did not tithe to God on a regular basis because I had no home church to tithe to. I did give accordingly when I saw needs in areas of Christian work, but it was never a measured intention as a tithe to God. In January 2007, God convicted me and I started to tithe again. As most would know, April is the month where some companies do their annual increment exercise. In my tithe for April, I felt challenged by God to tithe according to my faith, and that I responded to the challenge that God placed in my heart.

Last week, I received my increment letter from my boss. The company's recommended increment was 4% thereabouts. When I opened the enveloped containing my increment letter, I was delighted that my increment came up to a percentage of more than DOUBLE what the company's recommended was, and way ABOVE what my faith could offer to God in my tithe to Him.

I feel truly loved by God, and blessed by what He has blessed me with financially. But more than that, God has taught me that even with my faith, I should not limit what God can do for me and with me, because He is God and He is "able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think..."

To God Be The Glory!

God never shortchange His people... He does not need our money, but He wants our heart to love and obey Him willingly.
